Canplex Turns 25: The Story of a Family That Chose to Do Things Their Own Way
Twenty-five years. That’s a good reason to lift the hood and tell the story of how it all began.
At Canplex, behind every order delivered, there’s a team that knows its craft and shows up when it counts.
To mark the occasion, the team launched a series of four video capsules tracing the Canplex journey, from its origins to today. The first one is now available, and it starts where everything truly began: with Lorenzo.
1982. 1982. Before Canplex, there was already Lorenzo.
Lorenzo Stocchero didn’t wait until the year 2000 to enter the industry. In 1982, he founded his first company in aluminum door and window manufacturing. He learned from the inside, understood what customers really wanted, and developed that taste for work done right — which would become the hallmark of everything he built afterward.
For nearly twenty years, he accumulated experience, relationships, and a clear vision of what a good company should be. At the turn of the 2000s, after selling that first business, an idea took shape around the family table: start over, but this time their way, with their values, with their name.
That’s the decision the first video capsule tells — in Lorenzo’s own words.

2001: one plant, two extruders, and a rented truck.
On January 10, 2001, Canplex was incorporated. A few months later, operations started on Marconi Street in Mascouche: a 10,000 sq. ft. plant, two extruders, and deliveries handled with a rented truck. The team was Lorenzo, his son Marco on the production floor, and a handful of colleagues.
In 2002, Michel Paquette joined as the first experienced operator. An addition that marked the beginning of something. Because at Canplex, the people who come in tend to stay. And that’s still true today.
What hasn’t changed in 25 years.
The machines and the plant have evolved — but something constant has been in Canplex’s DNA since day one: the ability to adapt, respond quickly, and take every project seriously, no matter its size or complexity.
Pool profiles, garage door seals, residential and industrial fenestration systems, flexible TPV, co-extrusions: the company has carved out a place in niches where precision and responsiveness matter just as much as volume. It’s a quiet strength, built order by order, client by client.
Today, Canplex is 13 extrusion lines, 71,000 sq. ft. of plant space in Mascouche, and a team of experts proud of what they do — with that same philosophy as always: serve well those you choose to serve.
Thank you to everyone who built this with us.
A 25th anniversary isn’t something you celebrate alone. There are the team members, many of whom have been there since the early chapters. There are the clients who trusted Canplex long before the company became what it is today. And the partners who believed in this family project from the very start.
A sincere thank you to all!
The rest of the story can be told on our timelineThe next three video vignettes are coming soon, each covering a new chapter in the adventure.
